Don't worry its just a bullet wound...

Well i'm still going along with my army sorry for the delay guys but i have a week left of college followed by a week of finals... now good news is i dont have any final exams... bad news .... next week i have to hand in 4 final papers... can you guess what your good old buddy accomplished of those papers... ZIP!!! means i have to write atleast 21-25 pages along with cover pages & citations to boot... much fun!... not!

So before i went on a week as a recluse i wanted to atleast keep you guys updated to know the project is still up and kicking! as promised here are two pics of the daemonic support in the way of furies & daemonettes

as you can see they are pretty basic nothing that fancy but hey the old school daemonettes were a bargain and i just noticed they all have different poses and the new daemonettes/furies look awesome with little to no work required! I even have a pick of the last 5 guys from the larger squad this is them before any real detail just the basics...

Looking back at the rules for this thign i noticed i'm not allowed to use non-gw models which was both good and bad because that leaves me with no leader... SOOO i rummaged through my bits box and came up with something a little different and totally might seem odd at first but is part of my fluff for the army. Saturday it seems my friends are busy and i'm all by my lonesome, i thought it a good idea to bring my 750pts thats partially painted but fully assemebled down to GW for a quick game or two. Yes if i do get a game in it will defintely be mini-bat rep'd so dont ya worry. But for now i guess the next update will be next week (thursday!) wish me luck guys and good luck to all you college guys! we are almost there!

Keep fighting.. keep marching..

Sorry for the delay guys papers/reports/work is starting to stack up 3/4 weeks of college left!! Then its sweet sweet summer time! But moving on... It took me forever but i finally finished another 5 traitors! I have 5 left to paint to complete the 25 i have on my list! I didn't take it would take so long and i'm quite a bit behind but it'll pick up after finals/any obligations are through. I'm still at a total block as to what will be my leader and also the gibbering hordes... I think i'm gonna can the gibbering hordes idea just because i've been trying to convert something suitably cool and i come up with nothing at all... I might just include a unit of 5 traitors with las-carbines (shotgun in game terms using necromunda redemptionists i think..) and a flamer. A nice little suicide squad who should prove a distraction or atleast maybe get a kill or two. I also tried to convert my leader from a tank crewman because he looked suitably important but wasn't that impress with the results... I think i'll use one of those Confrontation miniatures that i bought the "Scorpoion Neuromancer" he looks like an evil summoner type... And he just summoned this months purchases too!

For month 3 i am allowed another $50 + $10 from last month, i said that this month we recieve daemonic support and i'm not one to shy away from devilish help. Going with the Slannesh theme for my first variant of the list... I picked 3 blisters of the old school daemonettes (huge crab claws) for a nifty price of $9 how can you beat that? Daemonettes are in my opnion the best daemon for its cost! I mean we all know bloodletters kick ass but daemonettes aren't as expensive and if you are lucky enough can do more or less the same damage! Next up i picked up a box of the new Slannesh Daemonettes $40 and used $10 to buy Dark Elf Harpy Wings! This was enough to convert 8 slannesh looking furies! Though they are undivded i still thought they would go for pure speed and deadliness (that and they are converted off of slannesh models).

That puts me at $60 used up and i think i'm going to use some of the money from NEXT month to buy that neuromancer as an official army purchase so another $9 used up. And puts me to paint a hefty amount of models around 30ish but i've done ork mobs just as fast so i dont think it will be such a problem when i eke out time after finals. I want to do atleast two updates a week although they might not be as lenghty (well the second one mainly) and atleast one of those posts if not both to contain pictures. maybe something like updates every tuesday and thursday?

Here are two pics of the larger traitor squad missing 5 guys but came out pretty decently dont know exactly why they didn't come out more detailed and the camo didn't come out as well but i was desperate to finish them. Hopefully the last batch of 5 won't be as hard to finish... I wanted to take a group picture of all the traitors i have finished so far and here they are 20 so far...

Oh yes and ill be resizing my pictures next time sorry for the hugeness haven't had time to really edit them like i should! Dont worry guys next time i will! I've also come up with the Regimental name for my Traitors (IG codex) which helps with the fluff, the Andurian 92nd. I even thought up of the doctrines: Close Order Drill (fireteams), Veterans (tank hunters), Light Infantry (ability to sneak up on enemies), Drop Troops (spring traps from the groundworks) and Iron Discipline (to show they will fight for every inch of ground the enemy advances). Thinking of all this stuff up and carefully choosing my doctrines inspiring me more of my lost and damned force (i'm wierd like that) as i actually made some progress towards any discernable fluff. I thought up that if i fought any "evil" armies with my traitor guard that it would be the pre-heresey history, if its versus a good army its post-heresy!

But moving on to my lost and damned we haven't been able to put together our forces and actually get a game in. So i guess i'll trudge to 750pts and have a go at the somewhat local games workshop maybe make a pic bat rep out of it? Here is the intended list for 750pts.

Aspiring Champ w/ power weapon, ccw, melta bombs, daemonic strength, & frag grenades

Mutants x15 w/ bloated, flamer x2, icon, & mutant boss w/ powerfist & ccw

Traitors x15 w/ lascannon, plasmagun, & agitator w/ plasmapistol & ccw

Traitors x10 w/ missile launcher, meltagun, & agitator w/ lasgun & personal icon

Daemonettes x6

Furies x8

In such small games the speed of the furies and the resilence of my muties should see me through. I took out the gibbering hordes because i have no idea how to model them. I hope to actually use them one day when i get a good idea/model to do it with though. Well im pooped and i'm sure you guys are tired of reading, i'll update a bit on thursday so look forward to it! till then keep fighting!

Someone has to lead the way...

I've been away for far too long yes i know! Been a hectic weekend and i'm sad to say i didn't get a chance to complete ANY of my traitors (i planned to atleast get half the squad done) but such is life that it has its tricks... ::waves fist:: Good news though... i put together some mutants and i think they came out halfway decent...

sorry about the lighting in it i will take better pictures tomorrow, i had to take these in a hurry since my battery was running out! So many distractions this week but such is the way of college life with a part time job w/ full time hours!

The good folks at Dakka Dakka alerted me in an illegal list i posted below. I figured out that AB was listing the Arch Heretic's equipment at aspiring champ's discount. So i re-did the list and i'm quite happy with it:

Aspiring Champ w/ MOCU, power weapon, bolt pistol & daemonic strength

"The Flock" Mutants x15 w/ flamer x2 & mutant boss w/ powerfist

"Moreno's Squad"
Traitors x10 w/ missile launcher & melta gun

Traitors x15 w/ lascannon, plasmagun, & agitator with plasmapistol & ccw

Gibbering hordes x4

a more varied list with the champ joining the mutants for a nice assualt force while my traitors provide some fire support... the hordes will um... try and accomplish anything within their grasp! I still have no clue how to model the gibbering hordes but have a pretty good idea on how i want the aspiring champ to look. I might have enough time to get some painting in this week or at the very least convert the hordes and my leader.

still dont have history made up for my troops but i'm sure as i get a game or two in they will have one their own.. i'm hoping. Well i better get going, ill take better pictures as well as the close up of camo someone requested in a day or two. till next time guys keep fighting keep marching...

Revolution begins with a thought...

Well well a shocker to say the least, the army line ups have changed! Well a bit....

Me: Lost and Damned
Ray: Black Templars
Mike: Iron Warriors
Hoj: Necrons
Jon: Feral Orks
Sangi: Eldar

We are all starting to think about what to buy if we haven't already and starting to see a day when we can start gaming. 500pts doesn't really buy a lot in my army, what i was thinking of was using everything i have without having to buy almost anything what i really lacks is flexability. But i guess after much digress i've settled more or less on the following:

-Arch Heretic w/ daemonic strength, power weapon, bolt pistol, daemonic speed, infiltrate and frag grenades -Total: 75pts-

didn't really want a "big" leader in such small pt games but although i would've wanted a cheaper aspiring champ the fact that right now none of my squads really assualt would have had him just sitting there sporting a bolter and being useless.

-Traitors x10 w/ melta gun and missile launcher

-Traitors x15 w/ lascannon, plasmagun, w/ agitator armed w/ plasma pistol & ccw

my main fire support can't say much as i haven't really tried them out yet but i'm expecting atleast that they accomplish something with their shooting. their main strength is the fact that they can infiltrate all i have to do is pray we do missions with infiltration! But it is quite a pretty good ability because it denies your opponent of knowing where you intend to strike, and your shorter range weapons will be in range quicker.

-Gibbering Hordes x4

never used or even heard of other people using these little guys. frankly i dont even know how to model them.. i've thought of using nurgling bases but that would cut into my budget costs and i think converting them out of random bits will be more fun and cost effective. Maybe something along the lines of mini-spawns would work... They will mainly be a distraction for any who wants them to be, can't see them doing all that much but with 4 attacks charging 16 attacks is bound to hurt something...

-Sentinels x2 w/ lascannons

these guys will be great, they will strike from far and never got attacked so i hope. I doubt anyone will bring any dedicated armor busting weapons and i can easily stay out of small arms fire.

And thats all a very odd list i know... but its growing on me especially on ideas of how to convert the gibbering hordes and the heretic... I know i want something like a fallen comissar/officer just have to find the right bits to make my idea a reality. Ah well its getting pretty late so i'm gonna head out.. School work is gonna keep me busy expect an update thursday sometime. till then rise against!

We've got to have something to fight for...

Sorry for the long delay but college life put together almost seem ironic... busy with work and what have you but everything is getting settled (more or less). How could i abandon my public? how could i abandon my flock? Speaking of flocks i've decided that i am going to use $40 of the remaining $50 to buy myself a nice bunch of bloated mutants! I figure for know they can have "bloated" for that nifty 4+ save if anything i can always drop the bloated option for more pts. The mutant squad consists of 20 muties, mutie boss included w/ pf, 2 flamers, and 1 icon for summoning! Comes out to 214pts if they are bloated and 154pts if they aren't... although i must admit i didn't really want to spend 200pts or more on each troop choice from what i heard that 4+ save is defintely worth it... we'll see...

My blog is having the effect i wished it to have my friends are getting back into 40k and even starting new armies! Well one is starting a new army, one bought new models and is actually painting his own. The third is coming back from a long haitus from the games workshop addiction (i tell ya they always come back!) Welcome back Ray! So far the armies look like this:

Me: Lost & Damned/Traitor Guard
Ray: Black Templars
Hoj: Marines
Mike: Announcing tomorrow!
Jon: Feral Orks comign back on MAY 20th!
Sangi: Eldar

an interesting group to say the least, i know that i will be one of the few "evil" armies but thats alright. I love playing games and almost never tire! it will defintely help me fine tune the army and test out its versatility. I've decided mainly because i already have the models and got them at a great discount that i will start with Slannesh for the first list. I intend to have a list of the four chaos powers, each list slightly different than the last. So with Slannesh chosen expect some daemonic reinforcements on their way with next month's pay!

Well i did promise pics and here is my 15 man squad before going in for a prime tomorrow morning. With this squad i wanted a mix of bandanna's and bare faced, some just dont care to hide their identity while others wait for the opportunity to slip into an imperial army and cause damage to their infastructure heh.

For the 500pt games i need a leader... i'm torn between an Arch Heretic or Aspiring champ... the Arch Heretic would be a loner most likely accompanied by a spawn or hound purely for looks. The fact that they might acheive something or better yet take a killing shot will be greatly appreciated. Aspiring champ would be cheaper and more well protected but since i'm starting off with two squads of traitors and a unit of sentinels not too sure how effective that could be...

Im also struggling with if i actually want to use a chaos marine to represent the arch heretic or aspiring champ.. I was thinking maybe a high officer or commisar might suit the army better... Ah well this weekend i'm booked till sunday so ill start painting after i finish some school work. Maybe even snap some pics of what got done... till next time "thought is what seperates us from the masses.."
